chocolate chip pudding cookies

O.k. well I've never posted without a picture...but I'm going to give it a try. Because frankly I'm just too lazy to get the camera, take the picture, upload, download, whatever, etc. And I'd rather being eating the cookies I want to tell you about, rather than taking picutres of them. And I just can't go another day without telling you about my biggest weakness. People....I have one of (in my opinion) the best recipies for chocolate chip cookies. A friend (thanks...Verna) gave me this recipe about 8 years ago...and it's tried and true. True- as in truely going to make you want to eat the entire batch. That is if you even can stop eating the dough long enough to get some on the pan and bake them. That is if you are inclined to eating cookie dough like I.

So let me please share it with you......

Chocolate Chip Pudding Cookies

1 c. oleo (I use one stick margarine and one stick real butter)
1/4 c. sugar
3/4 c. brown sugar
3 oz. box instant vanilla pudding (or cheesecake flavor)
1 tsp. vanilla

Mix until creamy and smooth.

Add 2 eggs and beat. Gradually add 2 1/4 cup flour and 1 tsp. soda. Stir in 12 oz. package of chocolate chips. Or what I like to do is do 1/2 peanut butter chips and 1/2 chocolate chips. Bake at 350 for 12 minutes.

Yesterday I started a batch of these and then realized that I did not have any vanilla pudding. Which totally breaks all of my pantry rules! Because there are some things your kitchen should not be without. Like flour, sugar, and pudding. When you take the last "extra" box from the pantry you are supposed to put it on the list. I'm sure I would not have committed this sin...it must have been Donovan. Anyways....I had no pudding. So I resorted to the recipe on the back of the package. MISTAKE. They were flat and salty. Editable but not irresistable.

So if you want to try these cookies, please be the first to leave a comment and I will send you a sample.

And I really must stop eating these cookies now because lucky me.....tonight we are having a date night! I'm getting giddy just thinking about not cutting up food for anyone other than myself.

These sound delicious! I have a recipe for them that is a little different, but I can't wait to try yours. :)

Have fun on your date! Where are you going?

I am going to write the recipe down right now! Thanks for sharing. Can't get enough of a tried and true ccc recipe. I have one from Ruth Weber, but at the end it says, "Adjust to taste or texture..." something like that...too bad mine never taste as good as hers because my "adjusting" was never right.

I use a recipe with pudding too, now will never make them any other way! And YUP! Love the cookie dough, and the benefit of eating the cookie dough is that it takes less time to bake the "vanishing" dough. ;)
I'm ready for my Kim/Heather day! Whenever you get done "dating", maybe you can squeeze me into your schedule!
