philadelphia

On our way yesterday......After 10 1/2 hours we made it to Philly. With minimal tears, we had an overall good trip. A sweet cousin of mine made travel bingo for the kids which they loved, and really loved the snacks that came along as prizes!! Thanks Rosetta! What a great idea to keep them busy. Thanks also Holly for all the fruit snacks and treats you sent.
This morning we headed out for some site-seeing. Here we are down town.
All day I was falling in love with the colonial architecture.
What an amazing city.

One of the Nations first banks.
There were lots of festivities due to Independance Day that we could enjoy. Here are re-enactors of the colonial time.

Colonial games.
Suzy and her new friend Ava.
Congress Hall.

A small parade we saw today. A fife and drum band.

Independance Hall.
"Betsy Ross" who made the first flag.
Parking in south Philly. You can't tell by the picture, but the cars are not touching.
City Hall from a distance.
The famous Philly cheese steak sandwich from Pats. MMmmmm Delish!!!
Tonight we went to fireworks. The rain held off just long enough to enjoy a great show.
Can't wait to see what we do tomorrow. More to come.....
Happy 4th of July!!!

Welcome to the city of brotherly love. Looks like you have had a good time. We might have to spend the 4th in the city next year.
