horsin' around

Today was the 1st day of horse back riding lessons for Isabella. We gave her lessons for her birthday (coming up on July 23rd). We gave her a gift certificate early since she started lessons today. She will have lessons once a week for 4 weeks. She LOVES, LOVES, LOVES horses.

Today she learned care and safety for horses. Next week she will start riding.

While Isabella was working in the barn.....the kids and I were exploring the several acres this horse ranch sits on. It was so fun to check out all the horses and rolling hills.

My cousin Maria is giving Isabella lessons. I just love how patient Maria is with her. She really takes time to explain all the different aspects of taking care of horses, and why she does the things she does to care for them. It was so cool to watch Isabella absorb all the information, about something she only has read about. I knew she was loving it.
Here she is at her 2nd attempt of leading a horse. Pretty amazing to watch my "little" girl leading such a huge animal.
After lessons we headed over to my little sisters house to play in her pool. Holly served us lunch & later snacks and more drinks. I pretty sure she is at Wal-mart right now restocking her kitchen....after we ate most of her food.
The extra little sweetie in the above picture is my niece Makayla.

How fun to lay around by the pool and have so much help with the kids. Some days I feel like the luckiest mama ever.

I must say that horse looks a little too big for Isabella, but it looks like she's handling it well and having fun! Not my idea of fun but as you know,I have several nieces that LOVE horses, too so I know how thrilled Isabella must be.

That is such a neat and memorable gift for Isabella. She looks like she is just beaming in that last picture. I didn't realize how much she loved horses.

Have fun on your trip to PA!
