I'm contemplating ending my blog, due to some "anonymous" comments I have gotten. I'll let you know what I decide.

Heather,
There are a lot of things you can do to avoid nasty anonymous comments. In "dashboard" look at "settings" for the "comments". You can set it to control who can comment, you can set it to let you moderate all comments. Or, if that doesn't solve your problem, you can go to "settings" "permissions" so only the people you choose can read your blog.
So please don't quit blogging due to the small percent of people who mess it up. I enjoy reading what you write and seeing your family at play.

Heather,

I solved most of my commenting problems by using word verification. I don't know what kind of comments you got but between that and now moderating all of them I don't have much room for comments that are not ligit.

Hey Heather, I have also gotten a few comments from Anonymous that I really didn't appreciate. I hope you don't quit your blog, because someone ruined it for you! Try the suggestions that Deb and Christina gave you first and see if that works.

I'm a little embarassed to be leaving a comment...you don't know me...but here goes! I have been "lurking" (it sounds so much better than stalking)for a while now, I think I found your blog during the Fashion Fiesta. I love your blog! I am a stay at home mom also and enjoy reading your perspective. We live in neighboring states, but I think our towns are probably similar. Please don't quit blogging! I understand though that you need to do what's best for you and your family. :)

i echo all the above!

don't let someone who isn't even going to show their face ruin it for you!

I think you should do what Deb suggested! I really look forward to seeing what you will put next on your blog. Just set it for only people you know or screen the comments before they actually are shown. Don't let WHOEVER ruin this for you & everybody that loves to read your blog! You got plenty of friends that look forward to it also!

I totally agree with your other readers. There are ways to be more selective about who can read and comments.

I love seeing what you and your busy family are up to and I would miss your blogging voice!!!

Good luck...I know how hard it can be to get disturbing comments. I hope you figure out what to do. Keep us posted!

I really hope you don't end your blogging! You have completely inspired me and given me new perspectives on some different subjects! You do need to do what is right for your family though. I hope you try some of the filtering devices that have been suggested and go, then make a decision. I would miss your blogs they are so good!

Heather, I also love to read your blog! I am so sorry some person had to be rude. I hope you don't stop, I really enjoy getting ideas and being encouraged and just plain laughing at your entries! We moms need that encouragement don't we!

Hi - I was getting anonymous comments that weren't directed at me but rather nonsense or were trying to get readers to click on a link. I switched my comments settings so that I moderate comments. The problem with anonymous comments ended immediately.

I hope that is all it is. I would hate to think you are getting obnoxious readers. I love checking in with you and your family!
